Deploy your first project

Hosting Quickstart

Deploy your first project with Knitt Hosting in under 5 minutes. No configuration, no complexity.

1. Create your account

Head to app.knitt.co and sign up for a free account. No credit card required to get started.

2. Create a tenant

Once signed in, create your first tenant. A tenant gives you:

A unique API endpoint
Automatic hosting infrastructure
Media storage and CDN
SSL certificates

3. Your project is live

As soon as you create a tenant, your project is automatically deployed and accessible at:

https://{'{'}tenant-id{'}'}.knitt.app

Your API, uploaded media, and any custom pages are all hosted and served from this URL automatically.

4. Add a custom domain (optional)

Want to use your own domain? It's easy:

Step 1: Add your domain

In your tenant dashboard, go to Settings → Domains and enter your custom domain (e.g., api.yourcompany.com).

Step 2: Update DNS records

Add the provided DNS records to your domain's DNS settings:

Type: CNAME
Name: api (or your subdomain)
Value: hosting.knitt.app
TTL: 3600

Step 3: SSL is automatic

Once your DNS propagates (usually a few minutes), Knitt automatically provisions an SSL certificate. Your custom domain will be live with HTTPS enabled.

5. Start building

Your hosting is ready. Now you can:

Define content types and create entries
Upload media files
Build forms and collect submissions
Set up bookings and scheduling
Configure webhooks and automations

Everything is included

Hosting is included with every Knitt tenant. No additional setup, no extra charges for basic hosting. You only pay for usage as you scale.

All content, forms, bookings, and webhook endpoints are automatically hosted and scaled.

Media Files

Images, videos, and documents are stored and served via CDN for fast global delivery.

Custom Pages

Host static pages, landing pages, or full websites alongside your API.
